Mr. Luther Bells


Luther Bells, a native of Bishopville, South Carolina, graduated as Salutatorian and Student Body President of Westwood High School’s Class of 2023. He is currently a student at Clemson University, where he is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife and Fisheries Biology with a minor in Spanish Studies. A Spring 2026 initiate of the Pi Alpha Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., Luther is actively involved in a variety of campus organizations while also owning and operating his photography business, Jpeg.Luther LLC. He credits Westwood High School as the foundation for many of his opportunities and remains committed to giving back to his community and investing in its future.

Dr. Porschia Meadows


Dr. Meadows, a native of Spartanburg, SC, committed eight years of service to Westwood High School as an English Instructor. She is a graduate of the University of South Carolina and holds a BA in English, Masters in Secondary Education, and a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction. With 18+ years in field of education, Dr. Meadows continues to invest in students both in and outside of the classroom. She is excited to partner with her former students as they continue the work of developing a strong alumni network that is sure to positively impact the Redhawk community.

Ms. Makiyah Lewis


Makiyah Lewis is a Master of Health Administration candidate at the University of South Carolina and will graduate in May 2026. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Public Health from the College of Charleston in 2024 and is a proud member of the Westwood High School Class of 2020, where she served as Student Body President and learned what leadership truly meant while navigating the challenges of a global pandemic. A dedicated member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Makiyah continues to carry forward the values of sisterhood, scholarship, and service in all aspects of her work. With a growing foundation in hospital administration and a strong commitment to improving healthcare systems, she is devoted to giving back to Westwood—the school that shaped her into the leader she is today—and is excited to support efforts that strengthen the Redhawk community for future generations.

Mrs. Phillicia June


A proud native of Bishopville, South Carolina, Mrs. Phillicia June is a dedicated mother to Luther Bells and a passionate advocate for community service. With a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Phoenix and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice (with a minor in Psychology) from Limestone University, she has spent over two decades serving the public sector. Through her career, she has gained invaluable experience and witnessed the profound impact of long-term commitment to public service. Phillicia is also deeply involved in her community as a member of the Prince Hall Grand Lodge Order of the Eastern Star for the State and Jurisdiction of South Carolina. The OES focuses on charity, personal development, and giving back to others. As an active member, she participates in a wide range of social events, charitable efforts, and community support initiatives. In addition to her professional and volunteer work, Phillicia is the proud owner of J’s Sweet Treats, LLC, a growing small business that brings delicious treats to her local community. Her dedication to both public service and entrepreneurship reflects her commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of others.

Scholarship Committee CO-Chair

Ms. Samara Butler


Samara Butler is currently a student at the University of South Carolina, majoring in Psychology with a minor in Women’s and Gender Studies. She is expected to graduate in December 2026 and plans to pursue a graduate degree in Counseling and is a Spring 2026 Initiate of the Iota Chi Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc at the University of South Carolina. A native of Blythewood, South Carolina, Samara is a proud graduate of Westwood High School’s Class of 2023. During high school, she was actively involved in student government, led the athletic training program, and has worked with the scholarship council since graduation. Samara has displayed her commitment by volunteering within Richland School Districts 1 and 2 and mentoring freshmen at UofSC. These experiences have shaped her passion for service and reinforced the importance of giving back to the community that helped raise her.

Community Engagement & Communications Chair

Ms. Zharia McFadden


Zharia McFadden is a Master of Mass Communication student concentrating in Multimedia Journalism at the University of South Carolina, with an anticipated graduation date of May 2027. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations from the University of South Carolina in 2024 and is a proud member of Westwood High School’s Class of 2020, where she served as Student Body Vice President and demonstrated strong leadership and resilience during the challenges of the global pandemic. Zharia currently serves as the Administrative Assistant for Allen University’s Graduate Programs and Dickerson-Green Theological Seminary, where she supports graduate-level operations and helps ensure student and program needs are met efficiently. She is a dedicated member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, and continues to lead with a commitment to sisterhood, scholarship, and service. In addition, Zharia is the founder of her graphic design business, Allure Visualz, LLC, and looks forward to pouring that same passion and creativity back into the Redhawk community to inspire the next generation.
